Since our last post about the baby rabbits that came to visit us, they have returned! Room 9 were lucky enough to enjoy a second visit from them when they were around 3 weeks old. This time, we were much more confident with handling them and even had a go at feeding them some fruit.
As the rabbits were such a hit, we had a chat together about what we would like to find out about them or create.
Here's some of our suggestions:
* make bunny cakes to thank Lucas' mum for bringing the rabbits in
* sketch rabbits
* use Explain Everything to do some stuff about rabbits
* have some photos of the rabbits in frames in our classroom
* make bunnies - Keira
* make rabbit pencil cases out of cardboard - Lucas
* do they have sharp claws?
* do they all live in cages?
* are rabbits strong?
Jan (one of our lovely TAs) found a book all about how to take care of rabbits at the library for us. She also helped some of us to find an information book about rabbits in our school library.
Out of the ideas that we came up with, so far we have made rice bubble cakes to say thank you to Lucas's mum…
We have used Explain Everything to share our ideas and information that we have discovered about rabbits and uploaded these into our Media Galleries.
We have started creating our own rabbits out of pine cones, clay and many other construction materials…
Last week, Room 9 worked with Miss Paterson and made some chocolate rabbit pretzels and started creating some very cool rabbit puppets too!
